A Mass of Resurrection for Mrs. Josephine J. Murphy, age 84, of Homosassa, Florida, will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 16, 2010 at the St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Crystal River with Father Vincent Morton officiating. Cremation will be under the direction of Hooper Crematory, Inverness. A reception will be held following the service at the home of her daughter, Marie. She was born September 12, 1925 in Boston, MA, daughter of Joseph and Jenny (DeMaria) Cotugno. She died April 11, 2010 in Inverness, FL.

She worked as a homemaker and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Crystal River.

Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her spouse, Alexander B. Murphy.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Marie Murphy (Steven) Straight of Homosassa, FL, Jean C. (Michael) Tremblay of Dedham, MA, 3 granddaughters, Shannon C. Straight, Erin M. Straight, and Megan R. Straight, all of Homosassa; and several nieces and nephews including Matthew (Cheryl) Cotugno and Joey Cotugno. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
